Ipplepen Community Fund
The Ipplepen Community Fund was established in 2010 thanks to a generous donation from the Cottage Garden Society (the organisation that runs the annual Village Show and Ipple Tipple Beer Festival). The premise for the Fund was, and still is, to “give back” to Ipplepen Village the surplus funds generated by the Village Show via grant funding to Ipplepen village organisations.
Since 2010, there have been further donations from the Cottage Garden Society to the Ipplepen Community Fund, together with other generous donations from individuals and groups. This has enabled the Community Fund to award grants totalling more than £60,000 to a broad range of village organisations (see list at the bottom of this page).
The Fund exists to promote community life and activity via the distribution of capital or project funding to “not for profit” organisations, with grants usually up to a maximum of £1,500 – occasionally more in exceptional situations. Please note that grant funding does not normally cover on-going running costs or expenses of a grant-seeking organisation.
The Management Committee of the Fund is made up of representatives of the main Committee and the Ipple Tipple sub-committee of the Cottage Garden Society, the Parish Council, Churches in Ipplepen, the Primary School and the Health Centre.
The Annual General Meeting is normally held in June each year, following a 31 March year end. 21 days public notice is given for this meeting and any Ipplepen resident over the age 18 can attend and vote.
