Ipplepen Hub Building Fund-Raising Update

As we approach the end of another year, let us update you on funding position for the Community Hub.

The overall amount raised or committed to the rebuilding project stands at just over £224,000. This figure includes £2800 from our local fund-raising concerts and activities, £3824 from local donations £7,577 from grants received or pending, approx £90,000 pledged by members of Ipplepen methodist church (including gift aid), £100,000 promised from Teignbridge Methodist Circuit and £20,000 from our own Hub fundings.

In addition, by the time you read this our fundraiser, Paul Courtney, will have sent off over 30 applications to various grant-making bodies for a total requested sum in the region of £570,000 there will, of course, be further grant applications to be made- some bodies will only make grants once a certain figure has been achieved.

In the meantime, our architect, Arthur Tatchell has begun to look at ways in which the estimate for the entire project can be reduced.

So let me take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuing interest, and supporter this important village project, including of course your invaluable financial donations. If you haven’t yet seen the plans for the rebuilt hub, they are available at the Church and of course, you are always welcome to come and join us at the Hub s a visitor, Library user or volunteer. Let us continue to play our part in developing the community spirit in our lovely village.
