About this PodCast

Our first part to our Interview where Katrina Leskanich talks about Katrina and The Waves, Eurovision, and life!

Who does not remember Katrina and The Waves, winners of the – love it or loathe it – Eurovision Song Festival all those years ago. Peter enjoyed a most delightful interview with Katrina Leskanich, former lead singer of Katrina and The Waves when the two met up in Bristol. Of course, the Eurovision Song Festival comes up in conversation and Katrina takes us backstage into the Greenroom where she lets us in on some of the secrets of what goes on there.

Did you know that she is American? Katrina talks at length about her life in America, her childhood, and how she rolled into the music business. She comes across as a very bubbly and energetic person who is totally into her music.

You can listen to some of her music and learn about her reasons for writing some of the songs. If you want to see her that is possible too as she still tours the UK, Europe, and the States quite regularly but under the name Katrina Leskanich because Katrina and The Waves parted company some time ago. This is one part of a two-part programme so make sure you don’t miss out on your second portion of Katrina’s music and heart to heart with Peter.

Just in case this is nagging you, Katrina and The Waves were the last musicians to win the Eurovision Song Festival for the UK.

Part two coming to Ipplepen.Info on 22nd May.
