Village Repair Workshop

The Abbotskerswell Village Repair Workshop continues to thrive, supported by volunteers who remain active in retirement. The workshop offers a free repair service for a wide range of household items within the local community. While the service itself is free, donations are welcomed, along with the cost of any parts required. The team would be pleased to make this service available to the residents.

At Abbotskerswell Repair Workshop, we want to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by repairing more. Help us do this by bringing us your broken items for repair. NOTE: we are not restorers but repairers, we can always give advice on what your item might need to bring it back to use.

Abbotskerswell Repair Workshop is exactly what the name suggests: you bring broken items from home such as tools (especially sharpening) and smaller electrical items. Please note – we cannot deal with Cookers/Washing machines/Tumble dryers and the like. All electrical items are PAT tested before they are returned or sold. Why not have a look around our website and see what we do. We have an online system to track all repairs, you can book an item in here, or send us a message if you’re not sure if we can repair the item.

How to get involved
We are always looking for volunteers, so if you have experience in anything, please reach out and get involved. We are solely reliant on our volunteers and their expertise. Come and be part of the repair revolution!
